Since our establishment in 1985, the Literacy Council of Madison County has been dedicated to providing quality education to adult students in Madison County. We are proud of our history and the impact we have made on the lives of our students.
Relying on the generous contribution of time and energy from volunteer tutors, our courses address the needs of adult learners in several areas: GED preparation; technology and computer literacy; reading, mathematics, and writing; and English Language Learning (ELL).
What do we expect of our Tutors?
Once you volunteer, you will be interviewed and if accepted, go through a training session. Tutors should be prepared to make a commitment of one to two hours per week. They schedule the classes with their learners directly.
